For the mind pulled toward fear and the trust learning to remain.

When your mind is stayed, what holds it steady? The verse joins steadfastness to trust, not to your ability to silence every alarm. Your mind may look composed while secretly circling the same threat, demanding certainty before it will rest. Control is the false refuge. You rehearse outcomes and call the strain wisdom. But a mind fixed on changing circumstances cannot become firm by staring harder.

A stayed mind fastens itself to the everlasting Rock while fear keeps moving. That Rock is not your emotional control. In Christ, God entered your weakness in the incarnation, bore your guilt at the cross, and rose bodily from death. The risen Christ now intercedes for you. His completed work gives trust solid ground when your attention keeps slipping. Perfect peace is God's keeping work, received as you trust him—not a reward for managing yourself.

Stop asking fear to certify that you are safe. Turn your stayed mind toward the Rock revealed in Christ. What will you trust when your thoughts begin to move again?
