For the season when fear keeps searching the horizon.

I will lift up my eyes to the hills. Where does my help come from? My help comes from Yahweh, who made heaven and earth.
Psalm 121:1–2

Anxiety can make your eyes work without rest: checking the room, replaying the conversation, measuring the next danger. You may lift them toward the hills and still feel no answer, only distance and questions. That unsettled looking is not a moral failure. It is the body and mind searching for help while fearing that help may not come. Anxious eyes can lift before they know what help will look like.

Psalm 121 does not begin with a calm person enjoying a view. It begins with eyes raised toward the hills, toward their hard outlines and unreachable heights, while one honest question breaks the silence: where will help come from? The answer moves past the hills to Yahweh, the Maker of heaven and earth. The One who made what your eyes can see is not trapped inside what they can see. Your gaze may tremble; the Maker remains larger than the horizon.

Jesus says the Father knows what his children need, and the Father calls you his child through Christ. This is not a promise that your nerves will quiet on command. It is the solid grace of the incarnation: the Maker entered the world he made, bore human weakness, and now the risen Christ intercedes for his own. Help is not an idea you must manufacture while staring upward. It comes from the living Lord who has come near.

Anxious eyes can lift before they know what help will look like.
Prayer

Jesus, I release my need to locate help before receiving it. Turn my eyes toward your Father; keep me in the grace of your nearness. Amen.
