For the anxious heart in any season: you are counted.

“Aren’t five sparrows sold for two assaria coins? Not one of them is forgotten by God. But the very hairs of your head are all counted. Therefore don’t be afraid. You are of more value than many sparrows.
Luke 12:6–7

Not one of them is forgotten by God. What would it change if you believed that sentence all the way down, that the Father's attention reaches the five-for-two sparrows, the ones the market barely prices? You suspect you are the one sparrow that slips through the count. So you have become your own keeper, auditing every detail of your life, because you fear no one else is watching the small things. The refuge of self-vigilance is exhausting, and it never concludes; there is always another hair to count.

But the Father who numbers sparrows and hairs is the Father who did not spare His own Son. The cross is detailed care made visible: while you were still afraid of being forgotten, Christ was already given for you. The count is not a ledger of your worth; it is the attention of love. The God who counts sparrows does not lose count of you.

Will you lay down the audit and let the counted hairs rest in the hands that counted them?

The God who counts sparrows does not lose count of you.
Prayer

Father, let me be found in the attention that never forgets.
