For doubts that need the risen Christ to be more than an idea.
As they said these things, Jesus himself stood among them, and said to them, “Peace be to you.” But they were terrified and filled with fear, and supposed that they had seen a spirit. He said to them, “Why are you troubled? Why do doubts arise in your hearts? See my hands and my feet, that it is truly me. Touch me and see, for a spirit doesn’t have flesh and bones, as you see that I have.” When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet. While they still didn’t believe for joy, and wondered, he said to them, “Do you have anything here to eat?” They gave him a piece of a broiled fish and some honeycomb. He took them, and ate in front of them.
When doubts arise in your heart, what do you do with the risen Christ standing before you? The disciples hear peace, yet remain terrified and suppose they see a spirit. Your troubled doubt is not imaginary. Fear can make even good news seem unreal, especially when you demand an inward calm before you receive the witness.
Your false refuge is private certainty. You keep testing every thought until no testimony can reach you. That effort feels careful, but it leaves you alone with the very mind you distrust. Jesus does not answer these doubts with a vague impression. He stands among troubled people, shows his hands and feet, invites touch, and eats before them.
The risen Christ meets troubled doubt with wounds you can see and a body that truly lives. His peace does not erase the disciples’ fear before he gives them himself. The resurrection is grace for your embodied, frightened uncertainty. Look where he directs attention: flesh, bones, wounds, and food. Will you receive the risen Jesus as your solid refuge?

Risen Lord Jesus, meet my troubled doubts through your wounded, living body, and teach me to trust your resurrection.
