Strength is spoken to fear before the saving arrives.

Your hands are weak. Your knees are feeble. Who is speaking to you in this moment — your fear, or the command that addresses it?

You've been waiting to feel strong before you obey the word. You've made strength a feeling to summon, a resource inside yourself. That is the false refuge — bracing yourself before the word can reach you. But the verse does not say 'feel strong.' It says 'be strong,' spoken to the fearful heart, not after the fear leaves.

God's coming is the content of the command. 'He will come and save you,' and in Christ, the coming already happened. The cross took the retribution your sin earned; the resurrection is the saving. So the word spoken to your trembling hands is not a pep talk. It is a report. The God who said 'I will come' has come, and He will come again.

The command to be strong is a report that your God has already come. Will you let that spoken word be the thing that steadies your hands, before the deliverance you can see arrives?
