For fear that gives people the weight that belongs to God.

“Fear him.” Whom do you fear when a person can wound your body, income, name, or future? Jesus does not deny the threat. He limits it. Human power reaches the body and stops; God’s judgment reaches beyond death. Your fear is disordered when a creature’s verdict weighs more than the Father’s.

Your false refuge is control. You edit every word, predict every reaction, and seek safety in being approved. But approval cannot protect your body or make you remembered by God. The Father counts what you cannot count: every hair, every life beneath his notice.

The Father who sees you can reorder fear without denying the threat. In Christ, the Son enters the reach of death and bears judgment at the cross. He does not offer a technique for appearing brave. He gives you a standing before the Father that approval cannot grant. The God who counts hairs is not inattentive to your terror; in Christ, his seeing becomes mercy for the guilty.

When the next human verdict threatens you, will you receive the Father’s verdict in Christ as weightier than the threat?
