Easter season: resurrection power for daily need

At the apostles’ feet, the floor becomes open ground. Houses and lands are being loosened, the proceeds carried forward and laid down, and from that common heap every hand receives precisely what the day requires. Each need is measured not by greed but by the day’s honest want, and this community refuses to let anyone stand at the edge of the circle.

One heart and soul is not a mood. It is what happens when the resurrection of the Lord Jesus stops being a doctrine and starts being the power behind testimony. The presence of scarcity did not panic them into hoarding, because the risen Christ had already shown that death cannot keep its grip. I confess that I often treat my surplus as a fortress, holding more than I need because I do not fully trust the One who left the tomb empty. My tight hands betray my small view of the risen Son.

This is not moral heroism; it is resurrection economics. Christ spent everything at the cross and was raised with nothing but the victory of grace, so that His people could stop treating possessions as the source of life. When the resurrection is real, no need is left standing alone. Great grace was on them all, and it is the same grace that turns our fear into an open palm, making distribution according to need the most natural act in the world.
