When a smaller provision starts to feel like a smaller future.

The psalm calls a little held by the righteous better than another person’s abundance. Can you believe that when your account feels thin? Your fear keeps measuring your life against what others possess. It assumes more would finally make you safe.

The problem is not only limited provision. You have made a larger balance your refuge. But abundance has no lasting arms; they can fail. The psalm says Yahweh upholds the righteous and knows their days. A little held by God is not a life abandoned.

Christ does not despise your small portion. In his incarnation, he entered lowliness. At the cross, he secured an inheritance that famine cannot cancel. The risen Christ intercedes for you while your present days remain known to God. This does not promise an easy budget or immediate surplus. It gives you a Father who holds you without shame and a future not governed by your balance. Will you bring today’s little to Christ instead of asking abundance to shelter you?
