For the season when hidden tears need a keeper.

You count my wanderings. You put my tears into your container. Aren’t they in your book?
Psalm 56:8

The psalm places your wandering before God’s count. What do you do with tears he has already noticed? You may want them hidden, unnamed, and quickly dried. Yet its container and book make a harder claim: your grief is not lost from his attention. A kept tear is not a discarded tear.

Your false refuge may be polished competence. You keep answering messages, serving others, and explaining the loss, as though composure could protect you from sorrow. It cannot. Concealment does not empty the container; it only makes you carry alone what God has already counted.

In Christ, God meets this exact shame and fear with more than observation. The incarnate Son entered our frailty; at the cross, he bore sin’s judgment; risen, he intercedes for his grieving people. The psalm’s counted tears find their surest ground in his care. Your tears do not need to become eloquent before they belong there. Will you stop using competence as a lid and bring your unhidden sorrow to Christ?

A kept tear is not a discarded tear.
Prayer

Lord Jesus, expose my false refuge, keep me near your cross, and teach me to receive your intercession for every tear.
