Season: Unanswered prayer, sufficient grace.
Concerning this thing, I begged the Lord three times that it might depart from me. He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me. Therefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in injuries, in necessities, in persecutions, and in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then am I strong.
When you have begged the Lord three times, what do you do when the request does not depart? Infertility can make each prayer feel unanswered in your body. You asked for conception, not merely endurance. The request still hurts.
You may make the next pregnancy test your refuge. A bent reed cannot carry that weight. Paul’s weakness was not removed by repeated begging, yet the Lord declared grace sufficient for him. Your continuing sorrow does not prove that you have rejected grace.
Christ does not answer this with a promise of conception. He gives himself. At the cross, he entered weakness and bore judgment for sinners; in resurrection life, his power can rest upon you without your body producing the result you seek. An unanswered request can become the place where Christ’s power rests, without becoming the answer you wanted. Will you bring this unaltered weakness to Christ?

Lord Jesus, keep me from making the next pregnancy test my refuge, and meet my weakness with your sufficient grace.
