For the season when obedience comes before explanation.

“Do not lean on your own understanding.” What are you demanding before you take the next faithful step? You want direction with a complete explanation. But Proverbs joins trust with a heart that cannot see the whole road. A straight path may still be a path you cannot yet explain.

The false refuge is control disguised as discernment. You keep revisiting every option, waiting for certainty to make obedience safe. Your own understanding becomes a private map, and every unmarked stretch feels like divine neglect. Yet “in all your ways” includes the unanswered ways—the application, the conversation, the delay. Acknowledge Yahweh there, not only after the route becomes obvious.

Christ does not shame you for limited sight. In his incarnation and cross, he entered the human condition of obedience under a Father’s hidden purposes. Risen, he intercedes for you now; the Spirit teaches you to bring each option, fear, and desire before him. This is not a promise that every choice will feel obvious. It is grace for taking the next step without making understanding your savior.

Name the next honest act, acknowledge Yahweh in it, and refuse to call uncertainty abandonment.
