For the moment when the next step is unclear.
I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go. I will counsel you with my eye on you.
You want the way ahead, but do you want to be taught? The verse promises instruction and counsel, yet you keep asking for a map you can fold and keep. That map is your false refuge, a plan that removes every surprise and every need for trust. You would rather have a clear route than a living Guide.
In Christ, God does not hand you a map. He gives you His eye. The Spirit who raised Jesus teaches you from inside your chest, a steady gaze that never blinks. His eye is not a distant spotlight; it is a shepherd's gaze that knows your name. The cross proves that eye is for you, not against you. The way ahead is not a map to hold but a gaze to follow.
Will you trade your folded map for the living gaze? Will you step where the eye leads, even when you cannot see the whole road?
The way ahead is not a map to hold but a gaze to follow.
Lord, teach me to trust your eye more than my map.
