When family fruit is received, not harvested.

The blessing arrives before the table. Blessed is everyone who fears Yahweh, who walks in his ways; only then do you see the wife as a fruitful vine and the children like olive plants around your table. Are you walking in his ways to receive that household, or in your own routines, still expecting the promise?

Your false refuge is the labor of your hands. You have made effort the engine of the house, as if working harder could compel a fruitful vine and sturdy olive plants. So you guard the table, measure your children, and reduce the fear of Yahweh to technique. Reverence is the admission that the vine and olive plants are given, not harvested by your competence.

Christ is the man who truly feared Yahweh and walked his ways. On the cross he took the curse your misdirected labor deserved, and in his resurrection he became the true vine. The Spirit now bends your heart toward the Father, so your children are the yield of his life, not the proof of your performance. That is grace: your family can be received, not achieved.
