For the parent whose explanations cannot reach the whole road.

Wholehearted trust is where your parental understanding meets its limit. Can you trust Yahweh when your child’s choices refuse your explanation? You want a reason that will settle the fear. You want parental knowledge to become a map of the whole road. Your understanding is a folded map, not the whole road.

The actual problem is not that you lack enough information. You are tempted to treat more analysis, more messages, or a perfectly phrased warning as refuge. That is leaning on your own understanding. It promises control, but it cannot straighten another person’s path. You can acknowledge God in this way: name what you know, confess what you do not, and stop making your peace depend on an explanation.

Jesus does not shame you for being a parent who hurts. In his incarnation, he entered human weakness; at the cross, he bore sin you could never manage; risen, he intercedes for those beyond your reach. His grace does not give you a forecast. It gives you a Lord to acknowledge in every turn and a path he can make straight without first making it understandable. Will you release the map and trust the Savior who sees the road?
