For the season when seeking feels unanswered.

“Yahweh is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.” But what if your seeking returns nothing—no warmth, no sign of being found? The verse does not promise that waiting will feel good. It only names God good.

The false refuge is to demand a felt reward as the receipt for your seeking. When your chest stays cold, you conclude the seeking is worthless, so you either manufacture intensity or quietly stop. The silence hardens into a verdict against God.

Here is the gospel: in Christ, God sought you when you had no reward to offer him. On the cross the Son waited in darkness without comfort, and the Father answered by raising him—the salvation you are waiting for. God's goodness does not depend on what you feel while you wait.

Will you let the silence be the place where seeking becomes quiet trust, rather than the evidence that trust is futile?
