This season, flee private desire, pursue holiness, and receive Christ’s grace among faithful friends.

“Flee” makes desire a question of movement: what are you still calling harmless because you have not yet acted? The command exposes your habit of lingering. You keep the bait within reach, then ask why your heart keeps bending toward it. Your false refuge is secrecy. You imagine hidden desire is contained desire. It is a hook, not a home.

The same verse does not leave you running into emptiness. It gives your feet a direction: pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace. It also gives you people—those who call on the Lord with a pure heart. You may prefer solitary improvement, but private resolve cannot make fellowship unnecessary. Grace gives your feet a new direction and your heart a new company. In Christ’s cross, guilt is answered; by his indwelling Spirit, obedience is not left to your strength alone.

So flee the setting that feeds this desire. Then name one trustworthy believer and pursue the good beside them. Do not call isolation purity. Will you step away from the hook and toward Christ’s people today?
