For the season when God’s guidance matters more than your preferred route.

Show me your ways, Yahweh. Teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth, and teach me, For you are the God of my salvation, I wait for you all day long.
Psalm 25:4–5

“Teach me your paths.” Is that truly your request, or do you want God only to approve the path you have already chosen? The psalm joins waiting to instruction. You are not asking merely to arrive. You are asking to be guided in truth.

When waiting exposes you, your instinct is control. You call it wisdom. You research one more option, demand a private certainty, and resist any direction that costs your preference. That is your false refuge: certainty you can manufacture. Waiting becomes worship when your need to know yields to your need to be taught. Can you admit that your delay may be exposing not God’s absence, but your resistance to his path?

The psalm anchors this teachability in salvation: the One who guides is the God who saves. In Christ, God has not left you to earn direction by flawless obedience. The incarnate Son entered the human road, bore your sin at the cross, and now intercedes for you. The risen Christ gives his indwelling Spirit, who trains your desires through truth rather than feeding your demand for control. Your next faithful step may remain unclear, but your Savior is not. Bring that decision under his truth, and wait for him all day long.

Waiting becomes worship when your need to know yields to your need to be taught.
Prayer

Lord Jesus, make me willing to be taught, truthful about my control, and patient beneath your saving care.
