Waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ

The verse says you come behind in no gift. Then why does the waiting feel like a deficit? You count the unanswered prayers and the unhealed wound, and you conclude that your portion is smaller than someone else's.

The false refuge is self-accusation: if the wait is long, you must be the one who failed. So you tighten your grip on your own faithfulness, as if your grip could speed the revelation. But the foundation does not need your grip. A half-framed house does not hold the foundation; the foundation holds the house.

God is faithful, and his faithfulness has a face. You were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. The risen Christ who will be revealed is the same Christ who now confirms you until the end, blameless in that day. That is not a promise about your performance; it is a person holding you. So stop counting what you lack, and ask yourself: are you willing to be held by the one you are waiting for?
